Cihuatan
This archaeological site is still within the department of San Salvador , located northeast of the city of Aguilares , in the rivers Acelhuate River . This site was explored by archaeologists Salvadorans Jorge Lardé and Antonio Sol in the years of 1927 and 1929.
Cihuatan language Nahuat means "City of Women " reaches an area of 5 km and was an Indian ceremonial centre. Its main building is the church square of 12 meters in height.
