| The orchidaceous is plants that have captivated the admiration of many people around the world. The variety of colors and forms of the orchidaceous, have generated many followers, and in El Salvador it is not the exception. Although, the orchidaceous have the fame of being very difficult to cultivate, this has not discouraged many people who have dedicated themselves to cultivate this fascinating plant.
In the world there is around 35.000 species, pertaining to about 750 different sorts. The ideal climate for most of species is tropical and the subtropical one.
In El Salvador there is an Association of orchidaceous, this organization of scientific and cultural character, that has by objective the knowledge, culture, conservation and propagation of the orchidaceous, in special of the species of El Salvador . This Association was founded on 1968.
